Maj Gen Ram Kishan Saiwal, an alumni of Sainik School Kunjpura(Karnal) and the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Pune was commissioned into the Army Ordnance Corps in June 1980. The General Officer attended and excelled in all departmental courses. He specializes in Ammunition and Missile Technology for which he also had an exposure abroad. The General Officer was selected to attend the prestigious Defence Services Staff Course at Wellington and subsequently the Higher Defence Management Course at the College of Defence Management Secunderabad.

            During a career spanning nearly four decades the General Officer has tenanted many a prestigious appointments notable being Commandant of a Logistics Installation at Jalandhar,  Colonel Administration of a Force HQ in Counter Insurgency Area, Commandant of a Logistics Depot at Pune, Commandant of the Army Ordnance Centre at Secunderabad, Major General Army Ordnance Corps in Eastern Command and Additional Director General at Integrated Headquarters of Mod(Army) at New Delhi from where he superannuated in year 2016.

The General Officer has been the proud recipient of the Chief of the Army Staff Commendation Card on three occasions, the Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.

The General Officer is presently serving as a Director of a Logistics Company and has also been nominated as a member of the Advisory Group to the Raksha Mantri for Capital Procurements for the Indian Army.
